Dartmouth College staff members age 55 and older, with 10 years of continuous service, were notified Thursday of a voluntary incentive program under which they can choose to retire between Jan. 1 and Aug. 31, 2009.

Sorry to say, but I have no sympathy for
Dartmouth. As someone who's family has lived in Hanover since 1924, and everyone in my family worked for Dart mouth at one time or another, instead of starting at the bottom, they should start at the top and get rid of or restructure their administration. It is the support staff, Buildings and Grounds that made Dartmouth work, not the administrators.
As someone who has worked at another Ivy League school, a $50,000 dollar a year price tag isn't going to guarantee you a job,especially at this time, and what was once a close knit community is now a city where Dartmouth is trying to buy up Hanover.

Lol, perhaps they can keep going UP 4 or 5 times the cost of inflation every year to the studenrs. Oh, right, they have been doing that for about 25 years.
