Police video from 2003 shows first struggle between McKay and Kenney
Thursday, Jun. 21, 2007
Franconia – On the snowy night of the 2003 Super Bowl, a police officer came upon a teenager whose car was parked by a dark Franconia road. That was the first time that Bruce McKay and Liko Kenney met. The encounter turned violent. Four years later, another confrontation left them both dead.
UnionLeader.com has posted portions of a police videotape showing the 2003 incident.
The video, which contains obscenities, shows how the situation escalated into a struggle and an arrest. Kenney later pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and to assaulting the same police officer he shot dead this spring. Readers who do not wish to watch the video may want to read the story below, which describes the scene.
