New Hampshire Union Leader Correspondent

Twilight is coming on at Willie Minot's farm and the cows in the pasture graze contentedly as another day fades. But one cow nibbles on wet grass apart from the rest of the herd, different from all the others, with their spots, round bodies and, well, attitude. She's a moose. Double-click below to see Lorna Colquhoun's video of Mildred the moose.

I am concerned about the moose come huntinfg season. She would walk rtight up to a hunter and almost hop into his truck from the contact she has had with humans jusrt lookingat her.

I am just surprised that no one posted a comment blaming Democratic libruls for this moose's inability to make moose friends. You don't suppose she's gay, do you?
- LJC, Manchester

The poor baby. My heart just aches for her. I hope she settles in with the cows and will finally find a place of her own. The song brought tears........
- Carole, Rindge

Now that just warmed my heart on this cold, rainy day. Thanks, Ms. Colquhoun!

I'm glad that UL has Lorna up north to cover stories. Being an up north native I always enjoy her being able to report on the "rest" of the state that gets forgotten.

Loved this story Lorna, shared it with a bunch of my flat lander friends now that I live down "south"!
- Ben, Portsmouth

- Maribeth McCue, Manchester, NH

Every once in a while, it's just nice to read a "warm and loving" story...not violence, not harming anyone...just a story that gives you a warm feeling. Thank you Mr. Minot!
- Deb S, Mass.

Now that a great story
